Matilda Cancelled

Updated: Dec 21, 2021

As you might or might not know, as of today, December 21, 2021, the rest of Matilda’s run has been cancelled.

This has been a huge step in my life. A huge part of making me the actress that I hope to be someday. I‘m so thankful to the cast and crew for always being there for me and generally just being the best.

I’m sad not because I didn’t love the experience. I’m just sad that I didn’t get to say goodbye.

Or know that I was having a final show when I was having one.

Thanks a lot, Omicron.

I am so thankful to have worked with everyone in the whole Matilda company, and I hope to see them again someday.

To the kids, Annabel Cole and Brian Hebert, thank you so much for being my #1s throughout this production. The only bad part about making production friendships is when the production has to end.

To my child wranglers, Mookey Van Orden and Dominique Catherine-Marie Barr, thank you so much for putting up with our backstage shenanigans and being emotional confidants. Thank you for taking us to the vending machine and buying us concession drinks. Non alcoholic Matilda’s power might’ve just been lemonade and purple glitter, but it tasted GREAT.

To my director, Donna Drake, thank you so much for giving me many chances and pieces of advice. You are an amazing person and I am very thankful to have worked with you.

To my choreographer, Andrea Leigh Smith, thank you so much for pushing me to achieve greater things. I am a much better dancer now thanks to you.

To the rest of the cast, thank you so much for being supportive, kind, helpful, and amazing. Thank you for giving a kid like me a chance.

Goodbye, for now.

Love,

Haley
